Karen Bagnard, Artist: An Altadena artist with many community ties, Karen Bagnard has a special talent for creative workshops. Karen always promises her class that they will "amaze themselves." And they do! Karen has provided her fun, colorful and failure-proof craft workshops for many community organizations, including Mother's Club, Girl Scouts, Pasadena's Senior Center, Verdugo Mental Health Center, Pasadena's Adaptive Recreation Department, and more. With daughters of her own, Karen has a special fondness for girls and is very much looking forward to working with the Institute for Girls' Development this summer. Karen the Artist: Karen, the daughter of two artists, has been drawing all of her life. Karen's magical, whimsical card lines are sold in fine stores nationally and in the United Kingdom. While the cards are the focal point, related products such as bookmarks, magnets and prints are also produced. Karen currently has a line of cards that feature her own imaginative line and watercolor wash drawings. Karen and community service: Karen is a sixteen-year member of Soroptimist International and has volunteered for many organizations, including the AIDS Service Center, MACH 1 and various libraries and PTAs.
