Parenting Adolescents

How to Communicate Effectively, Keep a Positive Relationship, and Offer the Right Support

You’re living through a pandemic with a teen in the house. We’re here for you! Yes, this development stage can be exciting; it’s inspiring to see our kids growing up, building resilience, and exploring their passions. It can also be hard – as we try to grow alongside our teens, attempting to offer the right support at each stage.

How do you have conversations with your teen in a way that remains calm and positive? When should you step in and when should you give them space to learn and potentially make mistakes? How can you remain the “askable parent” – appropriately close when they’re developmentally ready to pull away?

This new 6-week parenting group is designed to help you better understand the adolescent stage and learn strategies to communicate more effectively, maintain mutual respect, and keep a positive relationship with your teen.

You’ll build skills around:

  • Validation and active listening
  • Effective parenting styles
  • Setting expectations
  • Helping your teen become a problem solver
  • Healthy ways to approach disagreement from a growth mindset
