Meaningful connections make a difference!  I’m glad you’re here.  I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for the Institute’s Child and Adolescent Specialty Program (CASP).  I have an extensive background working with children, adolescents, teens, and parents individually, in groups, and in family sessions to foster healing, growth, and reconnection.

I have experiences in community mental health, school settings, and outpatient settings.  I have also facilitated parent workshops to support parents as they grow in understanding about how mental health impacts the daily lives of their children, adolescents, and teens.  In addition, I’ve offered presentations on topics such as trauma’s impact on development and mental health’s impact on academic performance.  I regard therapy as an investment (temporal, emotional, mental, and financial) that can lead to more balanced, brighter futures for individuals, families, and communities by cultivating a deeper sense of identity, confidence, and purpose.

I’m influenced by attachment theory, developmental perspectives, and structural family theories to inform the best ways to foster lasting, deep, generational changes.  I have a client-centered orientation and practice a variety of approaches related to the unique needs of an individual and/or family which include attachment exercises, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) interventions, relaxation skills/mindfulness, and exposure exercises.  I incorporate art and play interventions when appropriate in my work with younger children and adolescents as well.
